Artist Bio

Sujin Shin is an artist known for her interactive print installation and painterly printmaking works alluding to repetition and intersubjectivity. Korean, Shin was born in Seoul in 1972 and has lived and worked in Seoul. She achieved a PhD in Fine Arts from Seoul National University, Korea and a MFA in printmaking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had 13 times of her solo exhibitions in Seoul (Korea), Tokyo (Japan), and Several Cities in U.S. She has also curated exhibitions including Crossing Gene: American and Korean Printmaking Exchange Exhibition. She received the First Place of the Show from Frameless 99: National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper and several kinds of fund from Korean government. Her works are collected by Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (Utah), Madison Art Center (Wisconsin), Seoul National University Museum of Art (Korea), the Art Bank at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Korea, (Korea) and others. Shin has also taught drawing, painting and printmaking in Seoul National University, Kookmin University, and so on.
